Once again, we’ve compiled official sales figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) to find the top-10 best selling tradesmen’s vans in the UK in 2019.
10. Vauxhall Combo – 12,944 sold
A new entrant to the top ten list, but popular in part to its fuel efficiency and decent payload.
9. Citroen Berlingo – 13,492 sold
Retaining its position at number 9, the Berlingo is a stalwart of reliability for all types of tradesmen.

8. Peugeot Partner – 15,056 sold
A sleek design and plenty of cab space keep the Partner close to tradesmen’s hearts.
7. Ford Transit Connect – 15,477 sold
Slipping one place from last year’s number 6, the Connect’s popularity might have decreased but its value and range of options keep it within the top 10.
6. Ford Ranger – 16,459 sold
With its rugged appearance and impressive payload the Ranger has climbed one place from 2018.

5. Vauxhall Vivaro – 16,459 sold
Built in Britain, the Vivaro has an impressive payload and fuel economy. It was also last years number 5.
4. Volkswagen Transporter – 19,608 sold
It may have slipped out of the top 3, but its range of models and city-friendly design ensure it’s still a favourite.

3. Mercedes-Benz Sprinter – 25,862 sold
Moving into this year’s top 3, the spacious, ever-reliable Sprinter gets the respect it deserves.
2. Ford Transit – 26,237 sold
Powerful engines and fantastic value keep this tradesmens’ titan in second place with 26, 237 sales in 2019.
LATEST UK TRADESMEN’S SALARIES
1. Ford Transit Custom – 52,512 sold
For the second year, the Ford Transit Custom takes first prize, selling almost twice the number of second-place vans in the UK. It seems it cannot be beaten for reliability, payload and support through dealerships.
